Don’t dream about it! Make your travel goals a reality in ’23
Have you ever heard the phrase “the only thing stopping you is you?” When it comes to planning your dream trip, as Black travelers we often become discouraged by 1 particular factor: the price! From travel expenses to where to stay, what to do and everything in between, it is easy to leave a dream in your head rather than making them a reality. In 2023, the Black travel summit team wants to see you travel more, experience more, and show our community and beyond what Black luxury and leisure travel looks like. In order to do this, we’ve compiled a short list of things you can do to turn your travel dreams into reality. See below:
Start Simple. Write it down.
Get a head start by thinking of places you’ve wanted to visit or plan to. Write down locations, hotels, dates, whatever your ultimate plan is to get a clear picture of your dream trip. If you’re creative, make a vision board filled with pictures of destinations, food, experiences and more to remind you often that any goal is attainable with work.
Get the Facts.
Once you’ve narrowed down your top destinations for 2023, start to look at the prices, best times to visit, and experiences to have a starting point. Don’t worry though, we know it may look pricey but this is needed to get you there with less stress.
Compare and Save.
The internet is a great tool for making travel plans, but you have to use it to your best advantage. Try to compare prices at least a couple of months in advance of your travel plans. There are many sites available for price comparisons, including Hopper, Expedia, and SkyScanner. Our personal recommendation for flights is Google’s flight tracker that sends the lowest prices available for your destination straight to your email, all you have to do is input your dates and locations, and allow Google to do the rest!
Check your Resources.
Have a major credit card that you use often? Many credit cards often come with travel perks such as discounts, sky miles, and hotel points that can give you more money in your pocket to experience your dream trip in style. You can call your credit card company to learn more about your opportunities. Black travel summit can also connect you with many Black-owned travel groups and advisors to help you save the most on your dream vacation. Interested in our list? Ready. Set. Go.
Once you’ve done your research, made a plan and saved your funds, all you have left to do is have an amazing time and tag us in your experiences so that we can share with our community of Black travel lovers @blacktravelsummit. We can’t wait to see all you’ll do in 2023 and hope to have you join us in Miami, October 20-22nd for Black Travel Summit 2023!
