Why ‘Movement’?
Movement means to change or develop. This webinar is a space where the movement for equality in the Black community and the Black Travel Movement join and will be based on the theme of supporting Black businesses, working towards Black success in and outside of travel, capitalizing on our own economic power, and more.
Occurring in Black History Month UK, we chose October as a means for reconnecting and putting #CollaborationOverCompetition into action. Why? Because October is traditionally a month for re-connection and settling over disputes and differences, as practiced in Ghana.
Who participated?
We hosted a variety of Black creatives, entrepreneurs, and businesses from the USA, the UK, and beyond. In addition, we involved corporations in full support of the Black Lives Matter movement and the building up of the Black community.
We invited some of the most renowned entrepreneurs in the Black travel community to join us in this discussion! Names like Claire Soares, Kelsy Horton, Orion Brown and more share tips, lessons, and advice on how we should be moving forward, together.
We also partnered with Hyatt Hotels and the Dream Defenders, an organization that fights for racial and social justice, in addition to donating a portion of the proceeds to the cause!
